Future Possible Resources
SpiderOak Secure Backups and Syncing: A major new initiative is the introduction of SpiderOak, a HIPAA secure automated cloud backup and file syncing system. SpiderOak is currently undergoing CUMC RSAM certification and a pilot project to test the use of the system for faculty members at the Mailman School of Public Health. Once the system is certified it may be a solution for groups worried about their data and research backups in the future with IRB approval.
LionDrive HIPAA Compliance: There are currently talks with CUIT and Google to get HIPAA certification for the LionMail Google Drive system, LionDrive. Currently, LionDrive is not certified for any sensitive data, but this would open up new methods in sharing, accessing, and backing up sensitive files.
