Congratulations to Dan Miller, CPRC Fellow!

We are happy to announce that CPRC fellow Dan Miller has accepted a position as an Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Social Work, beginning in the 2009 academic year. Dan will be joining the BU faculty as a member of its Human Behavior department. Dan is a fourth year doctoral student at the Columbia University School of Social Work in the social policy and policy analysis track and also recently successfully defended his dissertation. The dissertation, which was comprised of three separate papers, examined different aspects of the effects of maternal employment on child obesity, focusing in turn on nonstandard maternal employment, the importance of timing and developmental stage, and the role of home and school factors. Dan intends to continue his research focus on child obesity by investigating the extent to which the home and school environments can help to account for race/ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in rates of obesity. Congratulations, Dr. Miller!
