Professor Kaushal is Associate Professor of Social Work and a member of CPRC’s steering committee. She is also a Co-Convener of the Migration/immigration Primary Research Area Group and co-organizes the CPRC seminar series. She is a labor and health economist, and her research focus is on how policies and events affect the well-being of low-income families with special emphasis on immigrants.  Recent studies include immigrant earnings and health trajectories in Canada and the US; effects of nurse immigration on US born nurses, food insecurity among children; effects of education reforms on child health, fertility and gender equality in Turkey; effects of food price subsidy on nutrition in India.
