Biography
Anna Johnson is an advanced doctoral student in Developmental Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University, and a graduate research fellow at the National Center for Children and Families, also at Teachers College. Anna received her MPA in Social Policy from the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs in May 2008. Her research focuses on the potential of public economic supports for low-income families to enhance child development. In particular, Ms. Johnson studies enrollment in and effects of publicly subsidized child care and early education programs. She has worked with the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing study, the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study – Birth Cohort (ECLS-B), and New York City administrative data on the universe of child care subsidy recipients. Before coming to Columbia, Ms. Johnson worked in the Child Abuse and Family Violence Unit of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
