Biography
Melissa
Martinson
is a doctoral candidate in social work with a concentration in social
policy and policy analysis at Columbia University. Her
dissertation research is a comparative study of health and disparities
in
health across the lifespan in the U.S.
and England.
Her other research interests include child and family policy, social
determinants of health, comparative international research in health
and social
policy, the protective role of social support, and poverty. Before
coming to Columbia, Melissa spent two years as a social worker with
children and families in London, U.K.
