Biography
William McAllister, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Social & Economic Research & Policy (ISERP) and is on the Faculty of the Quantitative Masters in Social Science Program at ISERP. A major current research interest is using innovative methods to study the temporal structure of people’s lives. In this vein, he has studied or is studying the effects of a homeless intervention program on the subsequent housing history of formerly homeless men, the temporal structure of homeless shelter use in New York City and the recruitment structure of the major administrative and political organizations of the U.S. national state. In addition, Professor McAllister has published research in prevention, criminal justice and homeless policymaking, among other areas. He took his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
