Justice Working Group

A working group on justice and incarceration has formed within the Children, Youth, and Families primary research area group. Interested scholars participated in a brown bag discussion on March 14, 2008, about incarceration issues in the U.S.

In the 2009-2010 academic year, the group expanded to include other researchers within and outside the university, and began a series of meetings to discuss methodological topics of mutual interest, and to provide members an opportunity to receive feedback on research in progress.

In 2010-2011, the group began holding a monthly brownbag seminar series.Details can be found on our Events page.

In 2013-2014, the group merged with the Criminal Justice Initiative at Columbia University. The two groups co-organize the monthly brown bag seminar series for faculty, researchers and PhD students interested in and conducting research in the areas of incarceration and criminal justice.
