Claire E. Baker

Post-doctoral Research Fellow


Dr. Claire Baker is a post-doctoral research fellow at Columbia University. She earned her doctoral degree in Educational Psychology: Applied Developmental Science from the University of Virginia. Her research focuses on understanding influence of maternal mental health on early parenting and children’s emerging self-regulation and social-emotional skills. Additional interests include examining the mediating and moderating role of father involvement on ethnic minority children’s cognitive and behavioral maturation. Her most recent work involves using the Head Start Family and Child Experiences Survey to explore the role of family processes in shaping Head Start children’s school readiness.
