Heidi L. Allen

Assistant Professor of Social Work


Professor Allen is an Assistant Professor of Social Work.  She is an affiliate member of CPRC.  Allen’s research focuses on health care access and quality for low-income American families.  She is an investigator on the Oregon Health Insurance Experiment, the first experimental study of the impacts of Medicaid expansions on uninsured low-income adults.  Recent studies include: the relationship between Adverse Childhood Events and adult health outcomes, Medicaid expansions and cancer screening and survivor follow-up, the built environment and adult health outcomes and the mediating effects of Medicaid.
